My Background
Who am I?
My name is Isabelle, and I come from southwestern France. As a passionate French as a foreign language (FLE) teacher, I have been working with adults from all walks of life for over 10 years.
With a Master’s degree in FLE and as a DELF/DALF examiner, I offer personalized French lessons that combine methodology with a human-centered approach. I also speak English and Spanish.
I lived for over 15 years in Reunion Island, a French overseas territory known for its cultural diversity. Today, i continue this journey in the French Basque Country, another land of character and strong traditions.
Why iLang?
Ilang was founded in 2012 in Réunion island, built on a rich and varied background : from travel-related events to adult education and training, as well as the social and solidarity economy.
Above all, my travels abroad have nurtured my passion for self-discovery and understanding others. Living far from home, among different languages and cultures, taught me to see the world from a different perspective.
By stepping back from my own cultural references, I came to understand how deeply culture shapes the way we think, communicate, and experience the world. At the same time, I discovered that beyond our shared cultural backgrounds, every person is unique, with their own story, sensitivity, and perspective. This shift in perspective has deepened my understanding of people and continues to inspire my teaching.
These experiences of intercultural encounters naturally led me to teach French as a Foreign Language (FLE) on Réunion Island, then to create iLang and design tailor-made French immersion programs for international learners.
Inspired by the ylang-ylang tree, an iconic plant of the Indian Ocean, the name iLang evokes a delicate fragrance that invites you to travel. Its soft sound resonates with languages and communication.
Like a language, a fragrance reveals itself gradually, with subtle nuances, leaving a unique impression on everyone.
This reflects my approach : creating personalized French learning experiences rooted in authentic encounters, cultural exchange, and the uniqueness of every learner.
Today, iLang supports adults in learning French to help them :
